GrapeFest – September 11-14

The 28th Annual GrapeFest - A Wine Experience will take place in Historic Downtown Grapevine and opens on Thursday, September 11 at 10 a.m. Admission is free to everyone all day Thursday and until 5 p.m. on Friday. GrapeFest is the largest wine festival in the Southwest. Some of GrapeFest's most popular events include the People’s Choice Wine Tasting Classic, the largest consumer-judged wine competition in the nation; GrapeStomp; the Champagne Terrace; KidsWorld; Palate Pleasers at the Palace; GrapeFest Golf Classic; GrapeFest Tennis Classic; ItalianCarFest; five stages offering live entertainment, the Texas Wine Tribute and much more.

Hours: Thursday, 10 a.m. to 10:30 p.m., Friday and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 11:30 p.m., and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Admission prices are $8 for adults, $5 for seniors (62+) and children (6-12). RV TIP FROM GOOD SAM CLUB

As is typical in many RVs, the upper cabinets in my trailer are a bit shallow and difficult to reach. However, since I need all the storage I can get, I devised a way to use these cabinets to their fullest potential.

I discovered that large plastic coffee containers were a perfect fit for these cabinets—and even feature a grab handle. In addition, they are large enough to hold several different items with plenty of space for an easy-to-read label. It’s easy to get these empty canisters from businesses, churches, community centers or any other place that would purchase the economy size, or you can buy a new one and make lots of coffee, too.  Jeri Woods, Livingston, Texas

New Campground Staff

We would like to thank an entirely new Gatehouse staff for stepping up and maintaining the high standards that are expected here at The Vineyards.  Also, the Camp Store staff have all gone above and beyond their normal duties to keep things running smoothly.  Finally, the new management has worked tirelessly to lead and support the entire group during our transition. If any guests get the chance to pat Floyd or any other staff member on the back, please do so. They deserve it.

RV Heaven at the Vineyards

The Vineyards is undoubtedly the best RV Park in Texas. We have visited many. The park is maintained to its best and by the best. So Clean and well maintained. Lots of activities. It is peaceful quiet and always well behaved. Grapevine is an awesome city. The famous historic district on Main St. is just around the corner. Everything is right outside the Vineyards and close by. Plenty of shopping and eating if you don't enjoy just all the amenities at the park. We absolutely love this place. Don't miss the Friday night fireworks. The lake is beautiful. We can't say enough about the vineyards. This is where we spend our Thanksgiving. We had our Company conference night out catered right under the pavilion at the Vineyards. Great time.

Not exactly roughing it!

The best camping experience we've ever had! The staff at the Vineyards campground are like a concierge! The service was friendly, personable and exceeded my expectations. The activities were great and so much fun for the whole family. We loved kayaking and the campgrounds are beautiful! The list really goes on and on! This is definitely a new favorite of ours. We'll be back soon to take advantage of our rain check for our boat rental. (Another positive experience)

What an amazing place!

We just spent a quick weekend at The Vineyards before the kids head back to school. I have to say, I am in love! This is now our FAVORITE place to bring the kids for a camping trip. The park is extremely clean, the staff were AMAZING, the park has plenty of activities for the kids, and we felt completely safe. The kids especially loved the special activities held by the staff. The water toy bingo and the Luau at the Lake were huge hits. And the Krispy Kreme donuts on Sunday, that was their favorite! They had fun just running around and being kids. Thank you so much for an amazing weekend getaway. This will now be our family camping destination. We can't wait until our next visit!
