“Many thanks go out to Texas Advertising’s generosity this year. Their donation of designing and hosting our conference web page where all information, enrollment, and payment were on one page, greatly contributed to the success of this year’s conference! Thank You TXAD!” said Deeley.

TXAD and IACP came to work together through TXAD President Brian Schaeffer’s work with a local dog trainer, Gayle Justice of www.MaximumK-9.com . Through her, they heard about IACP and the work that they do.

MOARC launches mobile website

BURLSON, Texas – The mobile version of the CampinMissouri.com website has gone live, providing an easier way for RVers to find their favorite campgrounds in Missouri on the go.

TXAD Internet Services, an industry leader in creating .mobi websites, has been developing the .mobi website the last few months to accompany the redesigned desktop version of CampInMissouri.com  which was re-built in 2009, also by TXAD Internet Services. It can be access through any smart phone like an iPhone or Droid device.

The mobile version has all the same themes and elements as the desktop version including the top benefit of Find a Park. The site also includes a calendar of events and information on RV dealers in Missouri and Missouri Association of RV Parks and Campgrounds (MOARC) trade members.

“We’re thrilled that we can provide this benefit to our members. Close to 10% of our website traffic comes from mobile devices and it was very important we provide this service to them,” said Larry Helms, MOARC president.

The mobile version will also provide a quick link to QR codes on future CampInMissouri.com marketing materials including the annual edition of the Missouri RV and Camping Guide.

“The QR code will be a great way to streamline information to RVers coming to Missouri,” said Helms.

TXAD Internet Services recently combined forces with AGS Internet Services to provide website design and hosting services. TXAD Internet Services, like AGS, is now a division of Texas Advertising which serves 810 RV parks and campgrounds in the United States and Canada.

Do the added clicks of Google AdWords justify the cost?

Recently, our junior web developer and resident movie director, Chris Brailsford, forwarded a story about the effectiveness of AdWords in relation to organic results.

If you have a very relevant site and show up on the first page of search results for a specific term you may think, “Why would I ever spend money on AdWords for the same term?” According to this story, it might result in 50% more clicks. However, as with most things dealing with the internet this strategy is not for everyone.

Here at TXAD, we work primarily with RV parks and campgrounds. There are several who are now asking what it takes to ‘come up on Google’ or ‘get on the first page.’ It’s our belief that the most direct route is AdWords. Yes, optimizing their website to the best of our ability will begin a gradual march towards the top but in order to flip that switch, Google has made it easy to get there.

But! The costs of getting on that first page have to justify the clicks. We generally advise to bid on location-based terms – austin rv parks, branson campgrounds, etc – since it is the first qualifier of where a traveler ends up. These terms generally run in the $1.00 per click range and don’t take more than a few bucks per day in budget. If a client is OK with spending a couple hundred dollars a month then there is no issue. But if your park is coming up on the first page under a term that is relevant than you may decide to use those hundreds of dollars somewhere else.

Texas Internet Services picks up Missouri clients

FORT WORTH, Texas — Upon TXAD Internet Services’ return from the recent Missouri Association of RV Parks and Campgrounds (MOARC), Texas Advertising President Brian Schaeffer had a chance to reflect about the increase in business and what it meant, not only for the RV industry but for the country as a whole.

“We’ve visited the MOARC show for three years and this was our best year by far,” said Schaeffer. “This enforces the trend that we started seeing at the end of last year when we visited shows put on by KOA and ARVC.”

In addition to signing up clients new websites TXAD Internet Services sold multiple .mobi websites as well. One of those was purchased by Branson-based America’s Best Campground. ABC recently became a hosting client of TXAD Internet Services for their standard website and decided to add the .mobi version at the MOARC show.

“Seeing as we have hundreds of visitors that access our website through their phones each month, it was a no-brainer,” said Sue Alkire, owner-operator of ABC. “And with the wonderful customer service I’ve received since switching my hosting to TXAD, I know they’ll take care of me.”

“We had an increase in attendance from last year and everyone had a wonderful time!” said Linda Alcorn, executive director for MOARC. The show was held in Jefferson City on March 11th-13th.

TXAD Internet Services recently combined forces with AGS Internet Services to provide website design and hosting services. TXAD Internet Services, like AGS, is now a division of Texas Advertising which serves 810 RV parks and campgrounds in the United States and Canada.

Two Texas RV parks build .mobi websites

FORT WORTH, Texas — TXAD Internet Services, a division of Texas Advertising, recently went live with two more websites built exclusively for smart phones like the iPhone and Droid systems. Lubbock RV Park and Spring Creek Marina and RV are the latest TXAD clients to add a .mobi website to their online marketing strategy.

Users visiting www.LubbockRV.com or www.SpringCreekMarina-RV.com on any smart phone, can see they now offer fully optimized websites for iPhones, Blackberries, and any Droid-powered device. According to comScore.com, as of last year more than 82 million people in the United States use a smart phone.

“The difference between a standard website and a website optimized for smart phones (.mobi) is the layout and functionality. .mobi websites have less images and don’t take nearly as much time to download,” said Michael Moore, general manager of Texas Advertising. “People on their smart phone are most likely on the road and don’t have access to wireless Internet or a desktop to download the full website.:

“When I recently had my standard website rebuilt by TXAD Internet Services, I knew how important it was for a .mobi website to go with it,” said Bob Kennedy, owner-operator of Lubbock RV Park. “I couldn’t be more pleased.”

The .mobi website is also preferred when businesses starting linking QR codes on their promotional products, said Moore.

“By scanning a QR code on a smart phone, the quicker the information is displayed, the better. Currently, all AGS Guest Guide clients, also a division of Texas Advertising, have or will have a QR code on each guest guide / site map that is marketed,” he explained.

TXAD Internet Services recently combined forces with AGS Internet Services to provide website design and hosting services. TXAD Internet Services, like AGS, is now a division of Texas Advertising which serves 806 RV parks and campgrounds in the United States and Canada.

Texas Advertising goes live with two more websites

CROWLEY, Texas — Two more websites built by TXAD Internet Services have gone live and have already attracted thousands of visitors in a few short weeks, the company announced today.

Mesa Spirit RV Resort in Mesa, Ariz., went live with their website, www.MesaSpirit.com Jan. 17 and have already attracted thousands of visitors, 80 percent of which were new visitors to the website. The custom-built site includes travel information for visitors and Leisure Interactive’s reservation system embedded around the custom design.

But the best is yet to come as Mesa Spirit will soon be introducing sales listings for mobile homes on the website, said TXAD Website Director Seth Morris.

“It’ll allow visitors to Mesa Spirits website to view their mobile home listings from the convenience of their own home and allows them to view detailed listings at any time of the day,” said TXAD Website Director Seth Morris. “It’s super convenient to the park and customer alike.”

The other website to go live is Lubbock RV Park’s www.LubbockRVPark.com. Also built with a 100 percent custom design, as opposed to templates that employ the same look and feel for hundreds of clients, the Texas-based RV park went with TXAD’s Select Design and utilized a photo gallery and also embedded their Leisure Interactive reservation system into their custom design, Morris explained.

“Building my own website was very important since it was going to represent my business online. I needed it to show off my park while also providing information to my visitors. That was made extremely easy with TXAD Internet Services,” said Bob Kennedy, owner and operator of Lubbock RV Park.

TXAD Internet Services recently combined forces with AGS Internet Services to provide website design and hosting services. TXAD Internet Services, like AGS, is now a division of Texas Advertising which serves 802 RV parks and campgrounds in the US and Canada.

Location, Location, Location

While this principal obviously applies to physical locations of businesses, location based search applications is one of the more important and under-appreciated trends in web searches today.

As we become more mobile, our devices have become more aware of their location and search engines like Google, Yahoo, and Bing have begun gathering data to help their customers find things in a given location.

Groupon: A Success Story or How We Facilitated 1,700 Kayak Rentals Over One Weekend

I first heard about Groupon in a story about that company receiving $500 million in funding. Any company that pulls that kind of money is bound to get attention and it got mine. I learned that Groupon provides daily specials (typically 50% or more) to people in a specific area. If a big enough ‘group’ buy the ‘coupon’ then the ‘groupon’ is on. They email one deal out per day to each major city. The business then splits the revenue generated from that special with Groupon 50/50.
